Support for some of the YES Communities that have ADP Time Clocks is limited.
ADP Kiosks: Setup Static IP Configuration Steps
(Approximate network downtime: 20 -30 minutes)
- Contact the Community to schedule a date / time to configure their modem and DLINK router with the static IP information.
- Send Outlook invitation to community manager (use template and copy PN, CR, KM)
- Contact ISP and validate Static IP information is correct and ready to be loaded. (Recommend calling 30 – 45 min before contacting Community to ensure all is set up correctly)
- Contact Community and bridge in ISP. Remote into their network via “JOIN.ME”.
- Once network access has been made, log into the DLINK Router and change network settings.
- Configure modem for remote access; select “Enable Remote Management” and “Enable WAN Ping Response”. Select “Remote Admin Port” change 8081 (DLINK will restart with each change)
- Request ISP technician activate static IP script on their modem.
- Confirm ISP has completed activating scrip on modem.
- Have Community Manager restart network equipment (DLINK Router and Modem) and confirm network connectivity (phones and internet)
- Forward required information to ADP (copy Megan).
- Request confirmation from ADP that kiosk is able to transmit data.
- Document ticket and close-out accordingly.
POTENTIAL PROBLEMS:
- Unable to logon to The Community DLINK Router (i.e. incorrect Admin password)
- RESOLUTION: Send replacement DLINK Router that is pre-configured with static IP information.
- Configuring Static IP information causes their network to loss connectivity
- RESOLUTION: Power cycle all network equipment and devices (i.e. phones and PCs). Make sure the modem is re-connected first, then router and then restart phones and PC’s. If this fails, contact the ISP for further assistance and troubleshooting.
STATIC IP INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION — CHALLENGES ENCOUNTERED:
- Modem is NOT compatible with Static IP. Replacement modem needed from ISP
- Community is unavailable to perform required configuration steps
- Static IP script or Modem is configured incorrectly by the ISP (i.e. Bridge Mode = off)
- Bad modem or network cables / connections
- ISP provided incorrect Static IP information
- Modem and Router IP conflict
- Modem required network switch for additional network port (needed for Time Clocks only)
- Router not accessible due to Admin password being changed
- Complete network outage after running Static IP script on modem and configuring router
